A key word that you will see:

Fragmentation: a mental process where a person becomes intensely emotionally focused on one aspect of themselves, such as “I am angry” or “no one loves me,” to the point where all thoughts, feelings and behavior demonstrate this emotional state, in which, the person does not or is unable to take into account the reality of their environment, others or themselves and their resources. This is a term that my therapist and I use and is on the continuum of dissociation.

An incredibly powerful image, made all the more stark by its childlike simplicity. This will linger in my mind for a long time.

CC - that you have made it to adulthood is a triumph. Big virtual hugs coming your way!
And well done for putting it into words.

@bradly...I already communicated to you.

@Svasti. Thank you and you are right I survived. Thank you for the hugs. They feel good.

@Patches. Yes, this is a powerful exercise, but don't do it unless you are in a safe place. It is much more emotionally difficult than it looks.
