A key word that you will see:

Fragmentation: a mental process where a person becomes intensely emotionally focused on one aspect of themselves, such as “I am angry” or “no one loves me,” to the point where all thoughts, feelings and behavior demonstrate this emotional state, in which, the person does not or is unable to take into account the reality of their environment, others or themselves and their resources. This is a term that my therapist and I use and is on the continuum of dissociation.

One big knot!!

I've not been writing as I have been having neck and shoulder pain from stress.  Doctor says, "that it is just stress and gave me some home remedies.  My therapist and I have been working on relaxing my muscles.  The past month has been really tough in therapy and I carry it all in my body especially my shoulders and neck.  I'm one big knot!!!  A great massage sounds good, but I've also heard that some people use chiropractors.  What do you suggest?  I can't do physical therapy due to my respiratory problems.  OUCH!!!

A good message is great! Did you ask your doctor about muscle relaxers? Continue with your relaxation exercises and feel better.

Hi Wanda,

I don't want to take muscle relaxers as they put me to sleep. However, they do sound good right now!!

Now THAT'S what I could do with: a massage, I highly recommend it!
Also, when I get neck ache I stick one of those heat patches on for an hour or so and that seems to loosen things up a bit..probably cheaper than a massage too :)
Apparently Ibuprofen's pretty effective as it's an anti-inflammatory. Just as a caution though, I'd add that I can't take it 'cause my kidneys would have a fit! Plus it's non-too gentle on the stomach if it's already a bit dodgy!
Lavendar oil/gel can be soothing if you can get someone to rub a bit on. I'm sure ther are other essential oils that might help a little. I'm seeing my Mum later, she's a trained aromatherapist so I'll pick her brains a bit for you. Come to think of it, she's also trained in massage..hmm..I might have to ask her for a reduced rate!..Will also see if she's not averse to being wrapped up and sent over to you if you like ;)
Hope you find something to make you more comfortable m'dear.
xXx
