A key word that you will see:

Fragmentation: a mental process where a person becomes intensely emotionally focused on one aspect of themselves, such as “I am angry” or “no one loves me,” to the point where all thoughts, feelings and behavior demonstrate this emotional state, in which, the person does not or is unable to take into account the reality of their environment, others or themselves and their resources. This is a term that my therapist and I use and is on the continuum of dissociation.

What is Your Theme Song?

During times in my life, I often find myself singing or having a particular song in my head. When I was first "dating" my husband, I was going to visit a friend in Las Vegas, which is about a four hour trip without traffic. As I said, "goodbye," for the first time while I was closing my car door he said, "I love you!" This was before cellular phones, so I had to drive all the way to Las Vegas for a three day weekend with that thought in my head. What timing he had!!! So, this became my theme song for that period of time...

Share a theme song and why it was or is one. YouTube videos welcome!!!

Karen Carpenter's "on top of the world." that song changed my life. I had been shooting dope for 14 years, cutting myself and throwing up. It was the beginning of changing the direction of my life. Sarah

My own personal theme song used to be Molly Hatchet's "Flirtin' With Disaster." For that was what I seemed to be always doing, but now it is Kansas' "Carry On My Wayward Son." For after our Heavenly Father made Himself real to me, so much about that song is true of me.

Sarah,

Great song...I like how it changed your life around.

FishHawk,

Both great songs. I especially like how "Carry On My Wayward Son" fits.
